Four Ways to Rely On God in 2017
January is a month full of “new” things, right? Like a new goal, a dream, a new year, a new you . . . right? With all this excitement deep down inside, there is a part of you that thinks “this could be my year!” and in fact, it is. January is the Genesis to your year. For those of you who do not know the root meaning of Genesis it means “beginning, origin, creation, start of, development” just to name a few. With a new year comes new plan for the next 365 day, packed with ups and downs, happy and frustrating moments but it does end there.
Christ Life has learned a lot of things this year and the most important one of all was found in Isaiah 41:10, that God is always there and he has a plan; do not fear! We often like to neglect the fact that God is always there to give us a helping hand, to take the burden that is over powering us, to give a vision of accomplishing something new, to help us conquer the things that are blocking us from reaching our purpose.
So here we go, here are some ways to get you to rely on God for everything this year, through good times and bad:
Eliminate Distractions – Anything can become a god to you – anything we idolize, worship or put extra time into. To rely on God you must but Him first. You must make Him a priority.
- Create a list of important things to you that take up your time and then prioritize.
Recognize That God Is Worthy of Your Trust – you must make Him the foundation of your Life
- Acknowledge God daily – include Him into your routine; for example, in the morning spend a few minutes in His Word.
Substitute Faith for Fear – When you allow fear to undermine faith, you are letting God know that you do not trust Him for your needs. You are saying God is incapable of providing for you.
- In Philippians 4: 6, it says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”. Prayer is the key to remove fear!
Communicate with Him – Prayer is simply communicating with God it can formal as well as informal
- Throughout the day thank Him for simply things. Like, thanking Him for the night you spent and praising for the new day! Thank Him for no traffic and for a safe commute, etc.
We pray that these few tips help you in your journey to rely on God for everything!
From the Christ Life Family to yours, we wish you a Happy New Year full of love, prosperity, success, and safety!
